Avocado: an essential food for heart and body

Called “green gold” and “America’s new favorite fruit,” the popularity that avocado has gained is due to its high nutritional value as it contains vitamins, minerals and other components that help maintain health.

Although it contains many fats and calories, it does not make you fat, because avocado fats are very healthy, improve metabolism, help burn abdominal fat, prevent heart attacks, strokes and reduce cardiovascular risk.

Among the benefits deriving from the daily consumption of this fruit are: better control of diabetes, i.e. lowering blood sugar; reverses insulin resistance and early-stage diabetes; increases collagen production in the skin and delays the effects of aging.

Thanks to its active ingredients, avocado has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which help fight free radicals that cause inflammation and chronic diseases. For this reason it is attributed to the avocado the ability to prevent and fight cancer and to neutralize free radicals.

It is also considered a natural remedy for lowering cholesterol and triglycerides and blood pressure.

The dark green pulp closest to the peel is the one that contains the greatest quantity of vitamins and active ingredients.
