The 22-year-old Jannik Sinner grew from 188 centimeters to more than 192 in the last year

22-year-old tennis player Jannik Sinner said he has grown 4-5 centimeters in the past year. In his case, the high amount of sport practiced, good nutrition, genetic factors and, probably, a late entry into puberty may have had an influence. Growth is a constantly evolving phenomenon that differs from person to person. Genetic (ethnicity, parental height, genetic anomalies), nutritional, hormonal (thyroid hormones, somatotropic hormone) and environmental factors contribute to it. Lifestyles are fundamental. Since the secretion of growth hormone is greater both at night and in response to physical exercise, an adequate night’s rest is necessary, also avoiding the use of electronic devices until late, and adequate physical and sporting activity, even because the more intense the exercises are, the more you will grow in height. The growth trend is not regular, but varies with age. The maximum acceleration in puberty begins around 11-12 years of age in females and 13-14 years of age in males, and consists of a gain of approximately 20 centimeters for the former and 25 centimeters for the latter. At the end of puberty, approximately around 16-17 years for females and 18-20 years for males, growth in height stops with certain exceptions.
