AstraZeneca admits that its anti-Covid vaccine can have a lethal effect

The pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has admitted that its coronavirus vaccine may cause an unusual side effect linked to an irregularity in blood clotting.

The Telegraph reported this on Sunday, citing a court document, which explains that it is a thrombosis syndrome with thrombocytopenia that causes clots to form in the blood vessels of the brain or other parts of the body, along with a low number of platelets.

This deadly condition is also known as “vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia” (VITT).

Rare cases of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, as well as thrombocytopenia, have been reported in patients receiving this vaccine in the United Kingdom, European Union and Scandinavian countries.

In a court document, presented last February before the High Court of Justice in London, AstraZeneca acknowledged that its vaccine “may, in very rare cases, cause TTS”.

AstraZeneca said in a statement, cited by the New York Post, that it supported anyone affected by its vaccine, although it defended its effectiveness. It also said that secondary complications caused by the application of the vaccine are unusual.

The medicine in question is currently no longer used in either the United Kingdom or Australia. The chance of a person developing TTS after the vaccine is estimated to be one in 50,000.
